3-month TCS sub-contract: Senior Information Architect

Schoolnet provides a portal to educational services that support the "no child left behind" mandates (standards, performance, testing and curriculum) currently facing the primary and secondary school systems. Their in-house User Experience Practice needed some senior assistence in preparing for a new software release.

Rapid Modeling of UXP Solutions

The UXP team needed to come up with readily-accessible "dashboards" that could be easily configured using Sharepoint and Webparts to meet the custom needs of supervisors, principals and teachers. As the most fluent RAD designer, I was charged to deliver working HTML prototype models quickly.

I was also the lead UXP designer for the new messaging feature. My responsibility was to:

capture requirements and workflow
design the screen interface
define Webparts components
deliver a working model website

Schoolnet primarily services large regional school districts and maintains legacy software in a portaled environment, so there were significant scope and integration issues throughout the project.
